Director of Technology, Data Engineering
Job Summary
Leading a team of data engineers, the full-time remote Director of Technology, Data Engineering will manage the modernization of data pipelines, oversee the migration to the Databricks platform, and establish standards for data architecture while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Builds and develops a high-performing team of data engineering professionals, ensuring skill alignment for business needs and platform support
- Partners with Enterprise Architecture to translate architectural direction into effective data models and pipelines, driving strategic planning for initiatives
- Owns the development of data ingestion and medallion architecture standards, ensuring reliable and performant core data pipelines
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering or related technology, including 3+ years in a leadership role
- Experience in leading legacy-to-cloud data platform migrations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Deep expertise with Databricks and strong data modeling background
- Experience managing vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with data privacy and security standards
