Director of Threat Detection

Job Summary

Leading a specialized team, the full-time Director of Threat Detection will define and implement strategies for incident response, detection engineering, and threat hunting, while managing complex cybersecurity threats in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the senior incident commander during major security incidents, ensuring rapid triage and recovery
• Direct the incident response strategy and oversee digital forensics and root cause analysis to mitigate security gaps
• Manage and mentor a high-performing team of incident responders and threat hunters, driving proactive threat hunting initiatives

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of hands-on information security experience with expertise in incident response and threat hunting
• Proficiency with advanced incident response tools and log management across cloud and on-premises environments
• Demonstrated leadership experience in overseeing complex security operations and technical teams
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and familiarity with the payments/fintech regulatory environment
