Job Summary

Leading a team of underwriters, the full-time salaried Director of Underwriting for the Sharing Economy in NJ will oversee complex auto liability risks, manage portfolio development, and collaborate with brokers in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead underwriting activities for the Standard Accounts Sharing Economy business unit
• Manage and develop a team of underwriters while overseeing complex auto liability-focused risks
• Develop underwriting strategies to drive profitable growth and ensure consistency in coverage and pricing

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of underwriting experience, preferably in commercial casualty or specialty lines
• Strong technical coverage skills, including experience with manuscript forms and bespoke policy wording
• Experience managing or mentoring underwriters
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and evolving risk environments
• Strong underwriting and coverage analysis skills
