Disability Benefit Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the full-time remote Disability Benefit Specialist will evaluate claims, determine benefit eligibility, and guide employees toward successful return-to-work strategies while managing a caseload of disability claims.

Key responsibilities

• Manages assigned caseload of Short Term and Long Term Disability claims
• Communicates with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather necessary information for eligibility and benefit authorization
• Provides superior customer service by rendering timely benefit determinations and responding to inquiries

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• 2+ years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication
• Experience with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus
• Knowledge of ERISA regulations and Social Security procedures
• Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, and web-based systems
