Disability Benefit Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the full-time remote Disability Benefit Specialist will manage a caseload of disability claims, evaluate eligibility, and guide employees in their return-to-work strategies while providing exceptional support and timely decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manages assigned caseload of Short Term and Long Term Disability claims, ensuring accurate eligibility and benefit determinations
• Communicates with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather necessary information for ongoing claim management
• Analyzes claims activity and prepares reports for clients and management while ensuring a seamless transition from STD to LTD claims

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• 2+ years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication
• Familiarity with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus
• Knowledge of ERISA regulations and Social Security procedures
• Proficient in computer applications, including Excel and web-based systems
