Disability Benefit Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Disability Benefit Specialist will evaluate claims, determine benefit eligibility, and guide employees towards successful return-to-work strategies while managing a caseload of disability claims.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned caseload of Short Term and Long Term Disability claims
• Communicate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather information regarding eligibility and benefit authorization
• Provide superior customer service by rendering timely benefit determinations and responding to inquiries

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• 2+ years of STD/LTD claims adjudication experience
• Familiarity with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus
• Knowledge of ERISA regulations and disability-related procedures
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Excel and web-based systems
