Documentation Engineer
Job Summary
To enhance the usability of LanceDB, the full-time remote Documentation Engineer will create and maintain comprehensive documentation, develop runnable examples, and design AI-friendly content to support developers and AI agents in effectively utilizing the platform.
Key responsibilities
- Create and maintain quickstarts, tutorials, conceptual guides, and API references for LanceDB
- Design documentation for AI agents, ensuring clarity and completeness for effective workflow execution
- Build runnable examples and sample applications that demonstrate key workflows and functionalities
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in documentation engineering, technical writing, or software engineering
- Proven track record of producing clear technical documentation, supported by a relevant portfolio
- Experience designing documentation for AI agents, focusing on content structure and API clarity
- Strong Python skills with the ability to write, run, and debug examples using APIs and SDKs
- Familiarity with databases, SQL, and data workflows, along with an interest in AI infrastructure
