Documentation Platform Engineer

Job Summary

To evolve the documentation site into a platform that delivers an exceptional experience, the full-time remote Documentation Platform Engineer will build, maintain, and support tools for internal teams and external contributors, focusing on documentation quality and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously improve the documentation site to enhance user experience for various customer segments
• Maintain and expand docs-as-code tooling and content publishing pipelines for efficient content publication
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate documentation with the Tailscale platform

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience with static site generators like Hugo or Docusaurus, or documentation platforms built on NextJS or Astro
• Familiarity with docs-as-code workflows and their impact on user engagement
• Fluency in TypeScript/JavaScript and React, with comfort in Python and shell scripting
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation for documentation workflows
• Understanding of the implications of LLMs in documentation and application development
