Electrical CAD/BIM Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing Power Delivery Practice, the full-time Electrical CAD/BIM Specialist III will work remotely to perform technical tasks on high and medium voltage projects, including substation retrofits and new builds, while managing 3D models and producing accurate electrical construction drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain complete electrical design sets by interpreting engineering red lines and incorporating them into CAD drawings and 3D models
• Develop and manage 3D models for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with drafting/BIM standards and applicable codes
• Provide training and technical support to design staff on building information modeling standards and perform quality control checks on drawings and models

Required qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering or related field with 4 years of related experience or equivalent education/experience
• Experience in high voltage electrical CAD/BIM design
• Familiarity with Revit 3D modeling environments, specifically for Substation Design
• Knowledge of the National Electric Code and relevant industry codes
• Experience with Autodesk 2D and familiarity with Bentley MicroStation
