Job Summary
To support a growing practice, the full-time remote Eligibility Specialist will manage patient insurance eligibility, update copay information, and ensure proper authorization for appointments.
Key responsibilities:
- Review clinic schedules and verify patient insurance eligibility 48 hours prior to appointments
- Update copay information in the EMR system and communicate necessary details to front desk staff
- Monitor eligibility issues and assist Patient Access Coordinators with resolving insurance-related problems
Required qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of the insurance claim process and patient billing
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and practice management software
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Knowledge of third-party billing and reimbursement practices
- Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient access or eligibility verification roles
