Eligibility Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing behavioral health practice, the remote hourly Eligibility and Cost Estimate Specialist will screen patients for eligibility, register patients, set up payment plans, and explain insurance benefits while ensuring accurate communication regarding costs prior to medical services.

Key responsibilities:

• Confirm patient insurance verification and eligibility, documenting findings in the Practice Management system
• Evaluate potential patient liability according to insurance contracts and use carrier tools to estimate out-of-pocket costs
• Communicate with patients regarding their insurance and payment options before services are rendered

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred
• Minimum of two years' experience in a healthcare or insurance company setting
• Experience with insurance verification and benefit sharing preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
