Email Security Detection Engineer

Job Summary

Owning end-to-end detection problems, the full-time Email Security Detection Engineer will investigate complex email threats and detection failures, leveraging AI to enhance detection capabilities and collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to improve security measures in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and validate detection hypotheses, ensuring robust production coverage for emerging threats
• Utilize AI to automate investigative processes and enhance detection logic, while managing model behavior
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to address detection gaps and integrate new signals into the platform

Required qualifications

• Extensive experience in detection engineering, SOC/IR, or email/messaging security, with a strong understanding of various threat vectors
• Proven ability to analyze detection failures and implement durable fixes based on data insights
• Expertise in developing detection logic and systems that scale across multiple investigations or customers
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to think like both an attacker and defender in the context of social engineering threats
• Experience in leveraging AI and coding agents to enhance security processes and challenge existing assumptions
