Emergency Coder Contractor

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Emergency Department and Urgent Care Facility & Pro-fee Coder - Contractor.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately code medical records for urgent care and emergency room services
• Follow current ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines and apply modifiers as appropriate
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information and adhere to HIPAA policies

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Minimum 5 years of coding experience in emergency department and urgent care
• Certification such as CPC, CEDC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA
• Extensive knowledge of modifier application and coding guidelines
• Strong knowledge of Cerner and Epic systems
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
