Emergency Coder - WA Licensed

Job Summary

Offering a full-time remote opportunity, the Emergency Coder - WA Licensed will perform coding and charge submission for emergency department services, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and optimal reimbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Review electronic documentation to identify billable procedures and assign appropriate ICD and CPT codes
• Ensure compliance of coded services and clinical documentation with relevant guidelines
• Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve coding and documentation issues and maintain turnaround times for coding tasks

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with three years of coding experience or relevant education
• Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or other relevant coding certifications
