Emergency Department Profee Coder

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated professional, the full-time remote Emergency Department Profee Coder will accurately code medical records for urgent care and emergency room services while adhering to current coding guidelines and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately code medical records for all urgent care and emergency room services
• Follow current ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines, applying modifiers as appropriate
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of protected health information in compliance with HIPAA policies

Required qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of coding experience in emergency department and urgent care settings
• Certification such as CPC, CEDC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and coding rules
• Strong familiarity with Cerner and Epic systems
• Experience with charging infusions and injections
