Job Summary

Handling medical coding and data entry for outpatient visits, the full-time Remote Emergency Room Coder will specifically code Emergency Room cases using the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to enhance the coding and billing process.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes based on documentation and site-specific guidelines
• Create compliant physician queries and review claims for medical necessity
• Provide excellent customer service while floating between multiple coding specialties and sites

Required qualifications

• 2-year degree or equivalent experience; AHIMA or AAPC certification is required
• Active credentials such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or COC
• Experience coding Emergency Room cases is required
• Experience working with 3M 360 Encoder HDM is required
• Meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards
