Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Attorney, the full-time position offers flexibility in title and hours while focusing on counseling clients regarding employee benefits and executive compensation, including compliance and corporate transactions, with the option for remote work.
Key responsibilities
- Research tax and ERISA issues impacting retirement and welfare plans, compensation arrangements, and executive agreements
- Review statutory and regulatory changes to advise clients on compliance strategies
- Assist with due diligence, plan terminations, and drafting employment and incentive agreements in corporate transactions
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of law firm experience in employee benefits and executive compensation
- Strong background in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures related to employee benefits
- Experience with IRS and Department of Labor correction program filings
- Knowledge of ESOP transactions and Code Section 409A compliance
- Ability to work in various office locations or remotely
