Seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Attorney, the firm offers a flexible full-time position that can be performed remotely or from various office locations, focusing on employee benefits and executive compensation counseling, including mergers and acquisitions.
Key responsibilities
- Research tax and ERISA issues related to retirement and benefit plans, compensation arrangements, and executive agreements
- Review statutory and regulatory changes to provide effective compliance strategies for clients
- Assist with due diligence, purchase agreement reviews, and benefits integration in corporate transactions
Required qualifications
- At least 8 years of law firm experience in employee benefits and executive compensation
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures related to benefits and compensation
- Knowledge of IRS and Department of Labor correction program filings
- Familiarity with ESOP transactions and Code Section 409A compliance
- Ability to draft employment agreements and equity incentive arrangements
