Employment Counsel

Job Summary

Providing day-to-day employment law counseling and compliance support, the full-time Employment Counsel will manage a counseling portfolio covering performance management, disciplinary matters, and exits while advising on international employment issues and supporting HR compliance in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own a people relations counseling portfolio, offering legal support on performance management, disciplinary processes, and exits
• Advise on international employment matters and partner with local counsel and HR on cross-border questions
• Support employment agreement workflows and drive compliance for AI tool deployments in recruiting and HR

Required qualifications

• J.D. with active U.S. state bar membership and 5+ years of employment law experience, including in-house advising
• Strong experience in performance management, terminations, and accommodations, with international employment counseling a plus
• Hands-on experience with employment litigation and administrative charges
• Working knowledge of U.S. HR compliance requirements, including EEO-1 reporting and pay equity
• Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly while maintaining oversight for compliance and efficiency improvements
