Energy Manager & Trader
Job Summary
Managing the commercial and operational performance of a hydropower portfolio, the full-time remote Energy Manager & Trader will optimize market participation and trading activities while coordinating closely with plant operations and senior leadership to maximize revenue and manage risks.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute trading and hedging strategies for hydropower assets across various markets
- Oversee energy scheduling, bidding, settlements, and manage exposure to power price volatility
- Monitor market conditions and provide strategic insights and performance reporting to senior leadership
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, business, energy management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in power markets, energy trading, or portfolio optimization
- Strong understanding of wholesale electricity markets, including ISO/RTO and bilateral structures
- Demonstrated experience in managing market and operational risks
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with strong analytical and financial modeling skills
