Engineering Lead

Job Summary

To support the growth of Payabli's payment solutions, the full-time Engineering Lead will manage a high-performing team responsible for developing and maintaining critical payment systems, ensuring reliability and scalability while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Build and retain a high-performing engineering team that owns their systems end to end
• Deliver on product commitments by prioritizing and sequencing work effectively
• Scale payment acceptance and ensure integrations remain production-grade as partner volume grows

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems, with at least 3 years in leadership roles
• Proven experience in payments, including payment acceptance, gateways, or funding
• Experience scaling teams and systems through significant growth in volume and complexity
• Strong background in backend engineering with knowledge of distributed systems and cloud services
• Experience designing and evolving RESTful and event-driven APIs
