Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading a team of backend engineers, the full-time Engineering Manager will oversee Core Services systems, ensuring execution and outcomes while maintaining technical credibility in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of 4-6 engineers, focusing on growth and performance through regular 1:1s and feedback
• Own team execution and outcomes by translating company priorities into actionable plans and addressing operational loads
• Stay technically engaged by leading design reviews and participating in coding and debugging when necessary

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role managing teams of 3-8 engineers
• Proven technical leadership in Python/Django or equivalent backend systems, with a focus on design reviews and engineering standards
• Experience in mentoring engineers and managing performance through structured growth goals
• Demonstrated ability to deliver on commitments and manage a healthy software development lifecycle
• Strong personal practice of leveraging AI in work processes, with the ability to teach and guide a team in its effective use
