Job Summary
Managing multiple teams within the Boarding & Maintenance area, the full-time remote Engineering Manager will oversee the onboarding and operational health of partners and merchants on the platform, focusing on automation, team performance, and technical standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage hiring, performance, and delivery accountability for engineering teams, ensuring consistent standards and addressing underperformance early
- Drive team outcomes through effective collaboration with Product and Design partners, maintaining operational health and improving deployment frequency
- Champion the growth of engineers, ensuring they develop into higher roles while balancing team protection and pushing for progress
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in engineering management with accountability for hiring and performance
- Strong technical background in Node.js/TypeScript systems to evaluate designs and operational health
- Experience with observability tools like Datadog for monitoring team services
- Proven ability to run hiring processes for backend engineers while maintaining a high technical bar
- Experience collaborating effectively with senior technical leaders (Staff+ engineers)
