Engineering Manager
Job Summary
Leading the Open Syllabus engineering team, the full-time Manager, Engineering will manage team priorities and delivery while actively contributing by writing Python code, building data pipelines, and analyzing data in a remote capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Open Syllabus engineering team, overseeing hiring, onboarding, and performance feedback
- Own the team's roadmap and priorities, collaborating with business owners to ensure timely delivery across workstreams
- Contribute hands-on by writing Python code, building and maintaining data pipelines, and analyzing data to support the mission
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including roles as a senior or lead engineer
- Strong Python experience, particularly in building data pipelines
- Demonstrated experience managing or contributing to large-scale, distributed systems
- Experience leading agile delivery processes (Scrum, Kanban, or similar)
