Engineering Manager, AI Platform

Job Summary

To lead and mentor engineers while contributing directly through code and architecture, the full-time Engineering Manager, AI Platform will work remotely, reporting to the Director of AI Platform Engineering and collaborating with Product and engineering teams to deliver innovative software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Carry the architecture forward by turning platform direction into concrete designs and ensuring system coherence
• Write production code and collaborate with the team on complex problems while developing team members through feedback and mentorship
• Manage planning and delivery practices, ensuring alignment with Product and the Director while addressing obstacles and encouraging team contributions

Required qualifications

• Recent experience writing and shipping meaningful code
• Experience building and running complex systems through product engineering, platform work, or operations
• Demonstrated engineering judgment with the ability to explain decisions related to simplicity and risk
• Experience in management, mentoring, or technical leadership, with first-time line managers welcome
• Practical experience in building AI-enabled software and testing its effectiveness
