Engineering Manager, Commerce Solutions
Job Summary
Owning the architecture design, delivery, and roadmap for a remote, full-time Engineering Manager, Commerce Solutions will lead an engineering team focused on developing and maintaining application stacks such as WordPress, WooCommerce, and Magento, ensuring predictable and reliable software delivery while actively engaging in hands-on technical work.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the engineering team's architecture design, delivery, and roadmap in collaboration with Product
- Write specifications, review pull requests, and ensure the team maintains high engineering standards and practices
- Oversee the monthly work cycle, scoping and cutting tasks while addressing cross-team dependencies proactively
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role
- Hands-on technical proficiency in PHP, Vue, React, WordPress, GitHub Automation, and testing methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in improving team performance metrics, such as DORA numbers
- Experience in managed hosting, cloud services, or high-availability service businesses
- Recent hands-on coding experience, including reviewing AI-generated code
