Engineering Manager, Firewall

Job Summary

Leading a diverse team in a remote environment, the full-time Engineering Manager, Firewall will oversee firewall validation and tuning efforts, ensuring effective collaboration and operational discipline while managing project scope and deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers and security practitioners focused on firewall expertise
• Translate firewall workflows into actionable product capabilities and manage project sequencing with product teams
• Establish operational practices for design review, release, and incident response while remaining technically engaged with the team

Required qualifications

• Proven experience leading technical backend or platform engineering teams in a SaaS, cybersecurity, or cloud-scale environment
• Familiarity with firewall or network security to effectively collaborate with domain experts
• Demonstrated ability to deliver products under fixed deadlines with ambiguous requirements
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with a focus on identifying risks and tradeoffs early
• Experience partnering with technical leads, understanding the balance between management and technical ownership
