Job Summary
Leading a Europe-based engineering team, the full-time Engineering Manager, Web Data Acquisition will manage and develop engineers, oversee the design and delivery of web scraping capabilities, and drive operational excellence while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of engineers, ensuring clear goals and performance accountability
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of web scrapers to reliably acquire data from various sources
- Establish engineering standards and improve operational workflows for scraping services
Required qualifications
- Experience managing software engineers or data-engineering professionals
- Strong software-engineering background with proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with web scraping, data pipelines, and high-volume data collection
- Working knowledge of HTTP, HTML/DOM, APIs, and production support
- Ability to lead delivery across ambiguous requirements and competing priorities
