Entry-Level Data Analyst

Job Summary

Supporting product launches and analyzing complex data, the full-time Entry-Level Data Analyst will explore datasets related to the American criminal justice system, carry out well-defined analyses, and build visualizations while working remotely or from New York City or Oakland.

Key responsibilities

• Exploring datasets to uncover patterns and insights about the criminal justice system
• Carrying out analyses with guidance from senior analysts and the State Engagement team
• Building clear visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to internal teams and state partners

Required qualifications

• 6+ months of practical experience in exploring, analyzing, and cleaning real-world datasets
• Working proficiency in SQL, including joins, aggregations, and window functions
• Familiarity with Python, specifically the Pandas package, for data analysis and visualization
• Enthusiasm for collaborating with diverse internal and external partners
• Care and curiosity in inspecting source data and ensuring accuracy in analyses
