Job Summary
Supporting the Census Bureau in Suitland, MD, the part-time Entry-Level GIS Technician will manage GIS data enhancement and maintenance tasks using ESRI and custom GIS software, while working in a hybrid environment that includes both remote and onsite responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate, edit, and check street centerline, hydrography, and other data layers using custom map production tools
- Maintain daily production schedules and work with customized data automation tools and procedures
- Edit, modify, and create various data layers while ensuring accuracy and completeness of the Census MAF/TIGER Database
Required qualifications
- US Citizenship and current residency in the DC/MD/VA area
- Certificate in Cartography or GIS, or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or related fields
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro, Imagery, and understanding of Databases
- Some knowledge of civil engineering, cartography, surveying, and drafting
- Internship experience in GIS is a plus
