ESA Section 7 Consultation Specialist
Job Summary
To support the National Marine Fisheries Service, the full-time ESA Section 7 Consultation Specialist will assist Federal staff with analyses, writing consultation documents, and collecting scientific data related to ESA section 7 consultations, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Assist Federal staff with analyses and research for ESA section 7 consultations on Federal activities affecting ESA-listed species
- Write ESA section 7 consultation documents, including letters of concurrence and biological opinions
- Collect and analyze scientific data to support the consultation process and respond to information requests from Federal agencies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field and 3 years of relevant experience, with education beyond the Bachelor's degree substituting for experience
- Documented experience in environmental regulations, biological sciences, ecological risk assessment, or environmental impact analysis
- Strong technical writing skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team setting
- Capacity to receive and implement constructive feedback
