Experienced Commercial Underwriter
Job Summary
To support a growing portfolio, the full-time Experienced Commercial Underwriter will select, retain, and price commercial insurance risks while providing counsel and training to agents remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Reviews requests for quotations and new applications, making underwriting decisions based on established policies
- Monitors renewal business and in-force accounts, ensuring compliance with underwriting standards
- Maintains relationships with agents and recommends additional coverages to enhance customer satisfaction
Required qualifications
- At least five years of experience as a commercial underwriter
- A college degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
- CPCU, CIC, or similar insurance designations preferred
- Ability to underwrite large, complex commercial lines accounts
- Strong expertise in rating programs, coverage laws, and regulations
