Facility Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

To support the coding needs of a busy healthcare facility, the full-time Facility Inpatient Coder will assign ICD-10 CM, ICD-10 PCS, and CPT codes based on health care record documentation while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional coding standards, with the option to work fully remote.

Key responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10 CM, ICD-10 PCS, and CPT codes based on health care record documentation
• Review and collect health information data elements for various purposes including patient care and research
• Maintain confidentiality of health information in compliance with regulatory standards

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Health Information Technology or Coding, or equivalent program with coding emphasis
• Coding accreditation and/or certification required within 18 months of hire
• Previous applicable coding experience is beneficial
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated motivation, organization, and attention to detail
