Federal ATO Specialist

Job Summary

Leading security authorization and compliance efforts for the VA Voicebot program, the full-time remote ATO Specialist will manage the Authority to Operate (ATO) lifecycle, ensuring a robust security posture while collaborating with engineering and government stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the ATO, reauthorization, and Continuous Monitoring lifecycle for the VA Voicebot system
• Serve as the primary security point of contact, coordinating with VA stakeholders and internal leadership
• Prepare and maintain required security and privacy artifacts, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and Security Assessment Reports (SARs)

Required qualifications

• Proven experience leading ATO processes for federal information systems
• Strong working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and federal security requirements
• Demonstrated experience producing and maintaining federal security documentation, including SSPs and POA&Ms
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture principles as they apply to federal systems
• Bachelor's degree
