Job Summary
Providing underwriting support for retail and wholesale platforms, the full-time Retail Staff Underwriter II will assist with loan decisions, maintain a small pipeline for final approvals, and ensure compliance with GSE guidelines while working remotely across multiple states.
Key responsibilities
- Assist retail and TPO originators and processors with underwriting guidelines and income requirement scenarios
- Maintain a small pipeline of loans for final approval based on underwriting authority delegations
- Review appraisals for final approval and respond to management regarding QC/QA exceptions
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years of experience in underwriting FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, USDA, and VA loans
- FHA DE certification and VA SAR certification
- Documented experience in mortgage loan underwriting
- Working knowledge of the DeskTop Underwriter System
