Fiber Delivery Network Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting optical deployments in a full-time capacity, the Vendor Fiber Delivery Network Engineer I will manage cross connect requests, track patch panel assignments, and coordinate with vendors and field technicians to ensure timely project completion while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Create, validate, and track optical cross connect requests, including necessary documentation and vendor follow-up
• Perform patch panel port assignments and maintain accurate inventory records in internal systems
• Forecast capacity needs for cross connects and patch panels, identifying potential shortfalls early

Required qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in data center, optical/fiber, or network deployment operations
• Working knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure, including connector types and structured cabling
• Ability to read and interpret cable schedules and port maps
• Strong attention to detail in managing inventory and records
• Clear communication skills with vendors and field technicians
