Fiber Engineer

Job Summary

To support the design and solution of physical fiber paths across the network, the full-time Fiber Engineer will manage high-volume projects, including Small Cell designs and fiber inventory management, while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Design routes for fiber-based services, including Point to Point and Ring configurations
• Maintain and update the fiber plant database, ensuring accuracy in fiber asset data and inventory management
• Deliver design solutions for complex splicing schematics and interface with various engineering teams to validate project specifications

Required qualifications:

• Four-year college degree in Engineering or equivalent Telecom Network experience
• Minimum of three years of fiber design experience, including ring configurations and high-volume site deliveries
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Visio and Excel; knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus
• Experience with GIS-based platforms and fiber inventory systems, with QGIS experience preferred
• Familiarity with Google Earth and the ability to produce detailed KMZ files
