Fiber Engineer

Job Summary

To support the design and solution of physical fiber paths across the network, the full-time Fiber Engineer will manage high-volume projects, including Small Cell and various ring designs, while working remotely in the USA.

Key responsibilities

• Design routes for fiber-based services, ensuring optimal network configurations
• Research and analyze existing databases for network design and fiber optimization
• Maintain and update the fiber plant database, ensuring accuracy of inventory and circuit assignments

Required qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Engineering or equivalent telecom network experience
• Minimum of three years of fiber design experience, including ring configurations and high-volume site deliveries
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Visio and Excel; knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus
• Experience with GIS-based platforms and fiber inventory systems, with QGIS experience preferred
• Ability to produce and interpret detailed KMZ files using Google Earth
