Job Summary
Designing fiber paths for high-volume projects, the full-time Fiber Engineer will manage fiber inventory, develop routing solutions, and ensure database accuracy while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design routes for fiber-based services, including Point to Point and Ring configurations
- Maintain and update the fiber plant database to ensure accurate inventory management and circuit assignments
- Deliver design solutions for complex splicing schematics and oversee training for A&E teams on splicing packages
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent Telecom Network experience
- Minimum of three years of fiber design experience, including ring configurations and FTT projects
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Visio and Excel; knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus
- Experience with GIS-based platforms and fiber inventory systems, preferably QGIS
- Ability to produce and interpret detailed KMZ files using Google Earth
