Finance Director
Job Summary
Owning the financial operations of Nirvana Insurance Services, the full-time remote Head of Finance will manage the accounting close, revenue recognition, and FP&A processes while building a high-leverage team and collaborating with cross-functional leaders.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee NIS's monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A cycle, including variance narrative preparation for board processes
- Manage the accounting close and revenue recognition for MGA commission income, ensuring compliance with ASC 606
- Coordinate audit deliverables with external auditors and author financial narratives for board presentations
Required qualifications
- 8 - 12 years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance/FP&A within an operating company
- Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition, particularly in commission-based revenue models
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset
- Prior experience in fintech; familiarity with insurance or MGA economics is a plus
- Ability to simplify complex financial concepts for diverse stakeholders
