Job Summary

Supporting inpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing care, the full-time remote Financial Access Specialist will manage financial clearance for post-acute admissions, verify insurance eligibility, and handle prior authorizations from initiation to final determination.

Key responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility, coverage, and benefits for assigned post-acute admissions
• Initiate and manage prior authorization requests, ensuring thorough documentation in Epic
• Communicate authorization updates and collaborate with Admissions, Case Management, and Financial Counseling to ensure timely admissions

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in patient access/hospital registration or revenue cycle required
• Strongly preferred experience with Epic and prior authorizations
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance plans, and reimbursement processes
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA
