Financial Access Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Financial Access Specialist will manage financial clearance for post-acute admissions, verify insurance eligibility, and handle prior authorizations while ensuring accurate documentation within Epic.

Key responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility, coverage, and benefits for assigned post-acute admissions
• Initiate and manage prior authorization requests, ensuring timely progression and thorough documentation in Epic
• Collaborate with Admissions, Case Management, and Financial Counseling to support timely and financially appropriate admissions

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in patient access, hospital registration, or revenue cycle
• Strongly preferred experience with Epic and prior authorizations
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance plans, and reimbursement processes
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA
