Financial Clearance Specialist

Job Summary

To support the Financial Clearance Center, the full-time remote Financial Clearance Specialist will ensure payers are prepared to reimburse for scheduled services, verify insurance benefits, obtain prior authorizations, and maintain a high level of customer service for patients undergoing transplant, surgical, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Verifies patients' insurance and benefits information for transplant, surgical, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy patients
• Obtains prior authorizations from third-party payers in accordance with payer requirements
• Maintains professional communication with patients, co-workers, and payer representatives to ensure a positive experience

Required Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Three to four years of experience with insurance authorization/verification of benefits or related areas preferred
• CRCS or equivalent certification for Access Professionals required within 18 months of hire
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMS), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) status preferred
• Strong organizational skills and advanced knowledge of medical coding and third-party payer regulations
