Financial Clearance Specialist

Job Summary

Responsible for verifying patient information and collecting financial liabilities, the full-time Financial Clearance Specialist will work remotely, ensuring pre-service financial clearance and addressing insurance issues while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities:

• Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility and gather patient billing information
• Accurately estimates patient financial liabilities and answers inquiries regarding payments
• Processes patient payments and ensures pre-certification authorization is in place prior to services

Required qualifications:

• Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.; business concentration preferred
• Four or more years of experience in a business office setting, preferably in a healthcare environment
• Prior experience in a hospital revenue cycle or collection agency is required
• Familiarity with hospital computer systems is a plus
• Knowledge of third-party collections and reimbursement preferred
