Financial Clearance Specialist

Job Summary

To support patient financial processes, the full-time Financial Clearance Specialist will manage the assessment and verification of patient information, collect payments, and ensure pre-certification prior to medical services, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility and gather patient billing information
• Accurately estimates patient financial liabilities and addresses inquiries regarding payment responsibilities
• Processes patient payments and ensures necessary authorizations are in place before services are rendered

Required qualifications:

• Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D., with a business concentration preferred
• Four or more years of experience in a business office setting, preferably within a hospital revenue cycle
• Prior experience in a healthcare environment is required
• Familiarity with hospital computer systems and knowledge of third-party collections is preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
