Financial Clearance Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Financial Clearance Specialist will assess and verify patient information for scheduled medical services, manage collections of patient liabilities, and ensure pre-certification and referral processes are in place prior to services being rendered.

Key responsibilities:

• Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility and accurate billing information
• Accurately estimates patient financial liabilities and addresses inquiries regarding costs
• Receives and processes patient payments while maintaining clear records of financial clearance status

Required qualifications:

• Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.; business concentration preferred
• Four or more years of experience in a business office setting, preferably in a hospital revenue cycle or healthcare environment
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting is required
• Working knowledge of personal computers and business office applications is preferred
• Familiarity with hospital computer systems and third-party collections is a plus
