Job Summary

Managing a call queue, the full-time Financial Counselor will support patients by initiating financial assistance applications, handling self-pay accounts, and addressing billing inquiries in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate financial assistance applications and set up payment arrangements for patients
• Process payments and provide account status updates to patients and insurance companies
• Detect and direct billing or coding issues to the appropriate department for resolution

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of three years' experience in a healthcare setting focused on collections or financial counseling
• Experience with physician/hospital collection or insurance verification
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations and analysis techniques
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
