FinOps Data Engineer

Job Summary

Driving cost optimization and cloud financial governance, the full-time FinOps Data Engineer will analyze billing and usage trends across AWS and GCP, build and maintain data pipelines, and develop cost attribution models in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Find and ship savings across AWS and GCP by analyzing billing, usage, and cost trends
• Build and maintain the FinOps data pipeline, designing BigQuery/dbt models for reliable mart tables
• Apply data science techniques to cost and usage data, including forecasting and anomaly detection

Required qualifications

• Strong expertise in AWS and working knowledge of GCP, including pricing models and cost optimization
• Proficiency in data engineering tools such as dbt, BigQuery, and SQL for analytics
• Fundamentals in data science, including statistical forecasting and anomaly detection
• Automation and scripting skills in Python, Terraform, or similar technologies
• Experience in data analytics, data engineering, or data science within a FinOps or cloud governance context
