Job Summary
Owning cloud cost transparency, the full-time salaried FinOps Director will build reporting and dashboards on cost drivers, partner with engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities, and establish governance for AI/GPU compute in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Build reporting and dashboards on unit economics and cost drivers by product, team, and workload
- Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities in partnership with engineering, including rightsizing and architecture changes
- Manage cost and pricing tradeoffs across multi-cloud infrastructure, translating costs into metrics for pricing strategy
Required qualifications
- 8+ years in FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or operational cost management with experience leading enterprise-wide initiatives
- Proven track record of reducing cloud/hosting spend at scale (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Strong grasp of unit economics and ability to translate technical costs into actionable metrics for finance and business leaders
- Experience building governance processes and establishing cross-functional accountability
- Familiarity with multi-cloud architectures and high-volume data ingestion/telemetry pipelines
