Job Summary
Managing litigation risks for the Enterprise, the full-time Florida Licensed Assistant General Counsel will handle various lawsuits and disputes, provide legal advice to leadership, and manage outside counsel in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle disputes, including lawsuits and government investigations, for GuideWell and its affiliates
- Manage outside counsel and ensure litigation activities remain within budgetary parameters
- Provide strategic legal advice to business areas on a wide range of legal matters
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with a strong academic record and 5+ years of professional experience
- Admission to at least one state bar, with the ability to be certified in Florida as Authorized House Counsel if admitted elsewhere
- Extensive litigation experience managing a diverse caseload
- General knowledge of health insurance laws and corporate law
- Demonstrated experience in developing legal strategies and team leadership
